LET BE WOODEN The LIFE-BE WOODEN project NEBletter Realizzata da ART-ER |
Let’s start The BE-WoodEN project aims to develop skills and promote knowledge of the use of wood in construction. Recently, a set of webinars has been released to support knowledge and innovation in the sector with a clear approach based on the New European Bauhaus. Let's see what it is about. |

THE NEB FACTOR NEBINAR! Initiative Livable, inclusive, and human-centered environments A new tool developed within the LIFE BE-WOODEN project is available online to support practitioners and researchers working with wood in construction. The specific approach NEB-based of the webinars allows us to understand the importance of wood-based architecture in the wider perspective of the green transformation of the built environment. Wacław Szarejko and Joanna Jablonska of the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology describe the NEBINAR! initiative. |
What is NEBINAR? The NEBINAR! is a joint venture of the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (PWR), now engaged in the LIFE BE-WoodEN project. The series promotes the New European Bauhaus initiative among architecture students, architects, and professionals across Europe, providing them with state-of-the-art knowledge and practical tools. This innovative training platform brings together designers, theorists, urban planners, public officials, and activists in an interdisciplinary exchange of experience; disseminating knowledge and experience widely (around 600.000 professional architects in Europe). |
| Who are the speakers involved? ISpeakers are recruited from professionals working across Europe, like practising architects, academics and researchers, commerce chamber’s members, representatives of culture and local urban policymakers who want to share their knowledge and experience.
An open forum of talks and presentations reaches wide to all interested in solutions for today and the future, aiming at creating beautiful, sustainable and inclusive environments for happy and resilient communities. What's the NEBINAR! contribution to the LIFE BE-WOODEN project? The NEBINAR! focuses on sharing insights and best practices in creating more livable, inclusive, and human-centred environments. Talks, lectures, and presentations provide practical insights into sustainable materials and solutions for building environments, such as renewable resources. Wood, a key player in the European Green transformation, is a major focus. Scientists show how the history and heritage of past timber structures create new possibilities for smart urbanism and architecture.

Speakers shed light on city and regional-level policies, allowing citizens to transform their nearest surroundings positively. The challenges of today are addressed at the European and local community levels through applicable solutions derived from good practice case studies. All these aspects come together, enhancing the key objectives of The LIFE BE-WoodEN project. |

Where is NEBINAR! available, how to join them, are there specific requirements needed? How long will they be available? he NEBINAR! can be accessed directly from the dedicated website: https://nebinar.eu/news/ or through the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) platform: https://ace-cae.eu/news/explore-the-new-nebinar-website/ The selection of The NEBINAR! presentations are also available in the Italian language and can be reached directly from The LIFE BE-WoodEN project's platform: https://formagenova.it/ulp_course_categories/be-wooden/ Although the platform aims at architecture students, professionals, and designers, the NEBINAR! is available to all. What is the feedback received so far from users?
The dialogue form of NEBINAR! specifically elaborated for this platform has been very well received by the viewers and recipients. This open formula invites and includes all in shaping and forming not only the built environment but also encourages lecturers and experts to answer the exact needs of our audience. This democratic approach gives back the agency to society and builds a sense of community, but also shared responsibility.
