UNIVERSITY OF GENOA, ITALY
University of Genoa (UNIGE) is a teaching and research institution organized in 22 Departments, 5 Schools, 13 Inter-University Research Centres and 1 Centre of Excellence. It has a strong participation in EU Programmes, as well as in other important European and international research and cooperation programmes. From the year 2000 to date, UNIGE has been awarded 464 projects and collaborations through various international funding instruments and is currently involved in 52 ongoing projects. Since 2022, UNIGE has been a partner of the NEB. The Architecture and Design Department (dAD) focuses its interests on education and research concerning sustainable architecture, landscape and urban planning, eco-design, conservation and renovation of architectural Heritage. UNIGE dAD is the LIFE BE-WoodEN project leader.
LIGURIA REGION, ITALY
LIGURIA REGION is a territorial public institution with direct jurisdiction and legislative powers. It manages public housing stock through its own regional agency.
Through the European affair sector, since 2021, RL was the first italian region to start an intensive capacity building activity aimed at territorial stakeholders, accompanied by the national Ministry of Culture (NEB NCP).
For the LIFE BE-WoodEN project, RL is responsible for the innovation lab WP4 and will participate actively in the WP5 pilot action. Being member of networks (i.e. ERRIN), RL will contribute to communication and networking activities at an European level.
ART-ER SOCIETÀ CONSORTILE PER AZIONI, ITALY
ART-ER Società Consortile per Azioni (ART-ER) is the Emilia-Romagna Joint Stock Consortium aimed at fostering sustainable growth in Emilia-Romagna by developing innovation, knowledge, attractiveness and internationalization in the region. ART-ER is also coordinator of Emilia-Romagna High Technology Regional Network. It has great experience in participating and leading European projects, in particular the LIFE programme. It is partner of the NEB and works on issues and related topics: natural capital, circularity, carbon emissions and environmental performances, built through European projects and regional demonstrative activities. For the LIFE BE-WoodEN project, ART-ER will lead the WP4 Pilot Action and will contribute to the replication and exploitation of results.
UNIVERSITY OF FLORENCE, ITALY
University of Florence (UNIFI) is a prominent Italian university, with more than 1,800 researchers and a population of about 51,000 jr professionals. The Department of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Forestry (DAGRI) stands as the second largest department within UNIFI, focusing primarily in research and education in life sciences. Additionally, DAGRI is involved in the science and technology of wood, encompassing wooden products for structural purposes. The Wood Technology research group, within DAGRI, is chiefly responsible for conducting training, dissemination, and updating activities. UNIFI will play a significant role in contributing to the teaching and training processes in BE-WoodEN.
FEDERLEGNOARREDO, ITALY
FEDERLEGNOARREDO (FLA) is the Italian Federation of Woodworking, Cork, Furniture, Lighting and Furnishing Industries: it promotes the Italian wood and furnishing industrial policy, collaborating with Italian, European and international institutions. FLA associates more than 2100 enterprises, ranging from SMEs to industry leaders, and includes 11 sectoral associations. FLA is a member of EFIC and of other several sectoral Associations operating at Eu level (FEMB / EPF / CEI-BOIS / Light in Europe / Teppfa / FEFPEB / Grow International / ES-SO / FEP / UNIEP). It strongly contributes to the social dialogue, both at national and European level. FLA is a co-founder of the VET ad HE Center “Art/Wood Academy” for training technical operators and managers for the Wood and Furniture Industry, located in Lombardy, with support of local enterprises, institutions, universities and high schools. FLA is responsible for BE-WoodEN dissemination activities and will support the participation of its members in training and laboratories activities.
HOUSING EUROPE, BELGIUM
CECODHAS (Housing Europe) is the European Federation of Public, Cooperative & Social Housing. Since 1988 it's a network of 46 national & regional federations gathering 43.000 housing providers in 25 countries. Together they manage around 25 million homes, about 11% of existing dwellings in Europe. Housing Europe will contribute to dissemination activities and engagement of its associates in capacity-building actions and replication activities.
WROCLAW UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, POLAND
Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (PWR), established in August 1945, is a leading research and teaching center and one of the most dynamically developing technical universities in Poland. There are currently ca. 21 498 students, 95 doctoral students and 678 people at the Doctoral under the supervision of over 2 306 academic teachers at WUST’s 14 faculties and three branches. There are also 1 462 foreign students from over 60 countries around the world. The faculty members participated among others in FP5 (33 projects), FP6 (50 projects), FP7 (56 projects), Horizon 2020 (37 projects), Horizon Europe (19 projects), CIP European Union Framework Programs and DIGITAL, LIFE, COSME, Coal and Steel Fund, COST, Erasmus +, Structural Funds as well as in national research programs. In June 2016 European Commission granted WUST/PWr the logo "Human Resources Excellence in Research". Since 2022 WUST/PWr has been a part of Unite! The WUST/PWr will contribute to the NEBinars and place-making aspects."
UNIVERSITY OF PRIMORSKA, SLOVENIA
University of Primorska (UP) is an internationally engaged university, established in 2003. It has 6 faculties, 1 research institute, 1 student residences and 1 university library. In 2022, UP became part of Transform4Europe, and UP is one of the 38 members of the European Network of Innovative Higher Education Institutions. Currently, it carries out 81 study programmes and is actively involved in 257 national or international research projects. In 2023, UP established The New European Bauhaus Academy Pioneer Hub for Sustainable Built Environments with Renewable Materials (NEBAP Hub), and it has successfully acquired a major project entitled "New European Bauhaus Academy Alliance - NEBA Alliance” of which goal is to improve the skills of more than three million people in the construction sector.
