Hands-on Workshop in Imperia: Building the Pilot Project Has Begun

On October 18, the participatory construction workshop began in Imperia, at the social housing residence in Via Pirinoli 47.

Over the course of two weeks of activities, until November 2, architecture students from the University of Genoa, students from the Imperia Building School, and volunteers are working together — guided by the designers — to build furniture and installations for the indoor and outdoor common areas of the residence.

The workshop is organized by the winning team of the Challenge Based Learning - Simone Bianchi, Amirbahador Garousian, Margherita Fumagalli, Mariachiara Santoro, and Michele Andrea Tagliavini - in collaboration with UniGe, Regione Liguria, and ARTE Imperia, and with the support of the Imperia Building School.

The initiative represents an open training and experimental experience that embraces the principles of sustainability, beauty, and inclusion promoted by the New European Bauhaus, and forms part of the ongoing regeneration process of the Via Pirinoli complex.
