BE-WoodEN Innovation Lab: A Successful Experience in Imperia

We are excited to report on the successful completion of the LIFE BE-WoodEN Innovation Lab held on March 6th and 7th, 2025, in Imperia. This dynamic event brought together 20 professionals and 18 innovators.


Day 1 Highlights (March 6th, Museo del Mare)

The event kicked off with an introduction to the LIFE BE-WoodEN project and an engaging participatory lab. Keynote presentations were delivered by Piedad Rivas Lopez, Project Advisor - European Commission, Giovanna Franco, Department of Architecture and Design - University of Genoa, and Laura Muraglia, European and International Affairs Sector - Liguria Region, setting the stage for discussions on the future of wood in sustainable construction. The session also featured a speed-dating session where participants connected with local stakeholders, generating valuable ideas and collaboration opportunities. The day concluded with an Apericena, providing a relaxed environment for informal discussions and networking.

Day 2 Highlights (March 7th, A.R.T.E. Imperia)

The second day continued with the participatory lab, which included an urban drift in the neighbourhood and a visit to the building that is the subject of the challenge, to deepen the connection with the community and places. The participants gathered at ARTE Imperia in the afternoon for the interdisciplinary design tables.

The LIFE BE-WoodEN Innovation Lab successfully created a space for collaboration among local actors, stakeholders, and experts, laying the groundwork for future sustainable actions in the wood sector. This event has proven to be a valuable step forward in promoting innovation and sustainability within the industry.
